Richard Tomlinson


Richard Tomlinson is BLPs Head of Knowledge Architecture and Systems, responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing management of the Firm’s Knowledge Architecture, enabling partners and lawyers to store, manage and find information and knowledge in a way that is quick, targeted and easy.  The firmwide Knowledge Architecture and Knowledge Systems support effective legal work product delivery, business development, and information risk-management, and provide a foundation for the application of BI and data analytics technologies and processes to legal content.

Prior to joining BLP, Richard was Head of Global Knowledge Management at Shearman & Sterling LLP, with full responsibility for the global knowledge management programme and systems, and prior to that was Knowledge Technology Manager at Linklaters LLP, and Global Enterprise Architecture Manager at PwC.  Richard has more than 20 years’ experience working in Legal KM and Professional Services IT, having held roles in senior management positions in areas including KM, Enterprise Architecture, IT Service Management, Research and Innovation, and Project and Programme Management.
