Mike joined Bevan Ashford (Westcountry) back in 1998, having previously worked for 8 years as a PC Support Specialist and latterly, a Network Manager in the Public Sector.
Achievements with Bevan Ashford included the early introduction of Thin-Client technology to tackle the Year 2000 issue and at the same time, delivering performance boosts and a standardised software portfolio for the first time.
Upon de-merger in 2004 whereupon Ashfords was born, there followed a period of intense investment and Mike oversaw the move of the Firm’s Headquarters to new premises in Exeter, the introduction of Digital Dictation, Case Management and Document Management systems and the replacement of the Firm’s Axxia Practice Management System.
More recently, the Firm made the decision to move away from Thin-Client systems, which was seen to be out of step, with the trend being very much in the opposite direction. Mike deemed that Thin-Client was more of an IT Management and Financial expedient, rather than giving Fee-Earners exactly what was needed, particularly as the Firm became more and more mobile. The project delivered to its brief and was deemed to be a huge success.
In his spare time, Mike is a Guitarist and does not shy away from the fact that he is also a keen Railway Modeller!
